Smiles from Lebron James and the Lakers
Jan 2, 2023
Lebron James and the Lakers were all smiles after this 121-115 win over the Charlotte Hornets. There was a lot of anticipation for this game considering their most recent meet up was a close win for the Hornets with a score of 134-130.
Lebron James dropped 43 points and what more could you expect from a GOAT? Except maybe…81-- I digress. He’s leading a team with Russell Westbrook and a lot of young players, which has causes them to struggle this season with a record of 16-21. Troy Brown Jr., Thomas Bryant, Dennis Schröder and Austin Reaves all dropped double digits on the night.
The fourth quarter was a heartbreaker. Shot after shot, the Hornets clawed their way back into the game with only 4 point deficient at one point. Shots were falling but after a few ref calls didn’t go their way and an obstacle named Lebron James-- the coffin was sealed.
Dennis Smith Jr. made his debut for the Hornets after being out for a month on ankle injury and looked pretty healed up as he almost bodied Lebron James on a missed dunk. Mason Plumlee was a pretty big body in the post scoring 18 points. Terry Rozier dropped 27 points and look very shifty against the LA team. Lamelo Ball also snagged another 20+ point game.
Kelly Oubre Jr. missed the game due to a torn ligament in his hand that will require surgery.
This just another injury in the many that have plagued the Hornets season. This loss puts the Hornets at 10-28 record and 14 in the Eastern conference.
